(Newser) – It's tough being a single teen mom, but "tough" is relative: Bristol Palin made $262,500 speaking out against teen pregnancy on behalf of the nonprofit group Candie's Foundation, reports the AP. Yep, both the sum and the word "nonprofit" are correct. AP got the figure from the group's 2009 tax information. Think Progress provides the kicker: A closer look at the tax form shows that the group doled out only $35,000 in grants to teen health clinics.

I guess the ad she was in is supposed to show what it's like if you're a teen mom and getting helped out by the foundation... Yes candies, give money to a girl who promotes abstinence only sex education (obviously she couldn't keep her cooch covered) and not give money to hmm...I don't know...clinics? You keep doing this you're clientele population will get bigger and bigger.

Good for her, just because it's non-profit doesn't mean they don't pay people. The monies was well spent considering before Bristol came by we never heard of Candie's Foundation.
