(Newser) – Tiger Woods is back to making headlines the usual way: He had a terrific round of 6-under-par today at the Masters and enters the weekend tied for third place, only 3 strokes off the lead, reports ESPN. At one point, Woods strung together birdies on six of eight holes, finishing with nine in all. The overall leader heading into tomorrow's third round is Rory McIlroy of Northern Ireland at 10-under.

It was an excellent day at the Augusta National. Tiger's birdie at 18 to give him an overall score of -7 was clutch. Although the "young guns" are in force at the tournament, Tiger brings an excitement unmatched in the field. If you're in town for the Masters, I'll see you on Amen Corner.
