Schwarzenegger Ready for Action

Nearly 8 years from his last hit, Arnold says he's still got it

(Newser) – Arnold Schwarzenegger is back, and even at age 63, the longtime action star says he's ready to return to the high-octane heroics and disemboweling that made him famous. "I can step very comfortably into the entertainment world and do an action movie with the same violence that I've always done," he said in the LA Times. "I can have the same amount of heads coming off—and any other body parts—and as far as that goes, I don't blink." The former California governor would not comment on specific rumors, only saying, "The calls are coming in."

And, of course, there is his children's comic book and animated TV series as The Governator. But despite his age and the political baggage he picked up as the Governator, Schwarzenegger says the market is still hungry for old-fashioned action. "The whole industry has not come up with a new line of action heroes so [people say] let's go see the mature ones—that's what I call them, the mature ones—because there's nothing new around," Schwarzenegger said. "That's good news for me."

The titanium alloy endoskeleton is holding up but he needs to replace that living tissue.

Who wants to see a saggy bodybuilder in his 60s in an action movie? Liam Neeson is bad enough. Schwartzy should look into being the spokesman for Depends, after his flop in politics.

yeah, unfortunately with the exception of a minor few, he's right. Nobody has held the franchises today like he, Sly, Willis, Cage, Ford and the like, in action flicks. The "rock" or whatever he's gone back to calling himself? Please. Matt Damon has proven himself to be about the only viable newest generation replacement in consistency. However, that doesn't mean I will rush right out for a new Arnie movie. Since T2, He's proven you can wait for that to come out on disc, and chances are, only to rent it. Bruce Willis has proven himself to still be the "go-to" guy in Hollywood today among all of them, if you want to see action.
