(NEWSER) - The iPhone 4 hits tomorrow, and tech reviewers everywhere are incredibly impressed. Here's what they're saying:

• The iPhone 4 is “a major leap over its already excellent predecessor,” writes Walt Mossberg of the Wall Street Journal . The new features work very well, and the redesign “manages to make the 3GS appear bulbous by comparison.”
• David Pogue of the New York Times almost doesn’t bother reviewing it. “What’s the point?” he writes. They’ve already sold tons of these. “The public seems perfectly capable of sniffing out a winner without the help of tech critics.” But for the record, yes, the iPhone 4 is "sweet."

Leaked images reveal major changes, blog says

(NEWSER) - The next iPhone will be a much more radical departure from the iPhone 4 than Apple-watchers are expecting, according to Mobile Fun . The blog says it has received what it believes are genuine blueprints for the iPhone 5. The new phone, widely expected to be released in September, will have a larger, edge-to-edge screen, a curved rear panel, and a hole in the back which could be the new location for the device's antenna, the blog says. It'll have the same processor as the iPad 2

(NEWSER) - Apple plans to introduce a suped-up iPhone this September, one outfitted with the faster A5 processor found in iPad 2s, sources tell Bloomberg . The phone will also come with an 8-megapixel camera instead of the 5-megapixel model found in the iPhone 4. Cosmetically, however, the device will closely resemble the iPhone 4. The update was actually pushed back a bit, the sources said, so it would coincide with the launch of iOS 5. More»

Adoption rate the fastest ever

(NEWSER) - Apple sold 3 million iPads in the first 80 days of its shelf life, and is currently selling about 4.5 million a quarter, making it by far the fastest-adopted piece of technology in history, CNBC reports. Its nearest competitor is the iPhone, and that sold a mere million units in its first quarter. The fastest non-phone device, the DVD player, sold just 350,000 units in its first year on the market.
