Matt Damon Is 'Sexiest Man Alive'

Posted Nov 14, 07 3:33 PM CST in Gossip Arts & Living

(Newser) – Matt Damon has been named People's "sexiest man alive," the Associated Press reported today. The star of the "Bourne" franchise said he was a bit surprise to accept the honor, won twice each by buddies George Clooney and Brad Pitt. "You gave an aging suburban dad the ego boost of a lifetime," the 37-year-old wrote. The magazine hits newsstands Friday.

"My 9-year-old stepdaughter now thinks I'm cool—well, cooler," continued the letter published in People. Damon said he had "come to terms" with the idea that he'd be forever passed over for the honor in favor of his hunky pals. "I was really shocked and happy—[wife] Lucy said I actually blushed when I heard the news."
