London police have arrested three people who were planning a very different kind of royal wedding celebration. The trio of anti-monarchy activists—one of whom was dressed as an executioner—had planned to mark today's ceremony with a mock execution of a royal, reports the Guardian. Police seized a working guillotine and other props.

The odd trio—who had advertised a "Zombie Wedding" party in central London—are being held "on suspicion of conspiracy to cause public nuisance and breach of the peace," said a police spokesman. A fellow activist says the event was going to be a peaceful one, and while the guillotine is a working model, it doesn't have a blade—just wood painted silver. (More royal wedding stories.)
