(NEWSER) - It’s Regis Philbin's last day on Live! with Regis and Kelly. He kicked off his farewell last night with a visit to David Letterman’s show (highlights in the gallery) and continued with an hour-long goodbye tribute this morning. Who will Kelly Ripa get to cozy up to next? TV Guide offers up a list of eight possible replacements. A sampling:

• Mark Consuelos: First of all, he’s Ripa’s husband. He has also already filled in for Regis, and has hosted his own show. But maybe it's too cutesy a pairing?

Comedian is first guest host on 'Live!'

(NEWSER) - Jerry Seinfeld is the new Regis … at least for a few days. Regis Philbin departs from his hosting gig on Live! on Nov. 18, and Seinfeld will join co-host Kelly Ripa from Nov. 21 to Nov. 23, the Christian Science Monitor reports. Seinfeld, the first scheduled guest host, will interview Jason Segel, Kim Cattrall, Howie Mandel, Jamie Oliver, and—perhaps the most exciting of all—Miss Piggy. More»

Per his dying wish, autobiography to be published this year

(NEWSER) - A century after his death, Mark Twain remains a master at stirring up interest in his books: It was the author's dying wish that his lengthy and revealing autobiography not be published until 100 years after his death—which happens to be this year. The 5,000 pages he left behind detail Twain's ill-fated affair with his secretary, his doubts about God, and his criticism of US imperialism in Cuba, Puerto Rico, and the Philippines, the Independent reports. Late Show host calls infidelity 'stupid behavior'

(NEWSER) - David Letterman is dead set on repairing his marriage after the infidelity that led to an extortion attempt last year, People reports. Appearing on Live! With Regis and Kelly, Letterman likened the events of last year to "an explosion," saying, "You're looking at the shards and you say, 'Well, can we put this back together?' And by God, maybe you can put it back together. And maybe it won't be the same, but maybe it will be different, and maybe it can even be better in a different way." More»

She also reveals struggle after deadly car crash

(NEWSER) - The New York Times has snagged a copy of Laura Bush's new memoir, which isn't officially due out until next month. Some highlights from Spoken From the Heart:

• She suggests that she, her husband, and members of their entourage were poisoned during a G8 summit when they all mysteriously fell ill.
• Ending her long silence about her 1963 car accident, she admits she was chatting when she ran a stop sign in the crash that killed a high school friend, but also blames a slew of factors beyond her control. She didn't attend the victim's funeral and says she was wracked with guilt for years.
• George W. only flew over New Orleans after Katrina, she says, because "he did not want one single life to be lost because someone was catering to the logistical requirements" of a visiting president.
• She slams Nancy Pelosi and Harry Reid as "petty and parochial" for making "graceless" comments about her husband.
