(Newser) – A suicidal Dubai man's final act earned him an unfortunate place in the record books. The man killed himself by jumping from the 147th floor of the emirate's 160-story Burj Khalifa tower, landing on a deck on the 108th floor. It was the first known suicide at the world's tallest skyscraper, the BBC reports. Police say the man, who worked in the landmark building, killed himself after his employer rejected a request for time off.

Hey if you need time off, put this story on your boss's desk and then send him an email asking for time off. Chances are you will get your request approved.

First 'known' suicide from this building? Is it easy to keep a disintegrated bloody mass of bone and tissue across a sidewalk hidden?
