Obama Thanks Romney for 'Assist'

Laugh line goes over well in Massachusetts

(Newser) – President Obama held a pair of fundraisers in Boston last night, and in both he tried out a new jab at Mitt Romney, saying that he'd passed health care reform "with a little assist from the former governor of Massachusetts." Both swipes drew laughter, notes the Washington Examiner. Obama has delighted in linking his would-be presidential rival to a law the Republican base despises, and rumor has it that he's itching to face Romney in the general election.

Isn't it odd that he can remember every sentence Mitt Romney has ever uttered, sharp as a tack, but when it comes to his own statements -- U.S. involvement in LIbya will be "a matter of days, not weeks", "We're going to close Guantanamo", etc, and etc, and etc -- he suddenly has no memory at all?  Does that strike anybody as credible?

This is a no-brainer:  All Obama has to keep saying in any run against Romney, "I did it and will run it better than Romney."

Mitt Romney will wind up being one of the best political weapons against the right wingers.  Excellent.  <:-)
