Stay Classy, Tea Party

(User Submitted) – What started as an innocent, yet gutsy challenge to Tea Party Princess Michelle Bachmann last week, has become an influx of ugly threats and slurs for Amy Meyers, the 16 year old challenger, and her family. Ms. Meyers has become the victim of Bachmann/Tea Party "defenders," trashing her and her family on Conservative forums. Posts run the gambit from childish name calling ("A lot of them are calling me a whore"), to violent threats, including rape, complete with taunts of revealing her home address.

An example of a typical comment, offered by someone identified only as, "CornRowdMoFo": "A women’s place is in the House-between a Man and a Bed!"
Nice. Bachmann must be so proud to have supporters like Mr. MoFo. I'm sure she got his $50.

Reactions from William Haney, founder of the West Jersey Tea Party:

“I certainly would be interested in seeing those threats rather than taking the word of a parent"

“I find it exceedingly difficult to believe that anybody who is associated with Michele Bachmann would be threatening Amy.”

Not surprisingly, no word from Bachmann yet.

For a nice collection of some of the comments, including a reply from Amy's father, visit the source article.

Wait, so the story is that people were mean to you on an internet forum?

There's no class or logic with the Tea Party.  The only positive defence I can come up with for this shoddy treatment of a high school girl is nobody from the Tea Party would have corn rows.   You're expanding Jesus.  Nice Job.

Hardly a news article. Some people said some mean things. That is related to the Tea Party how? This is partisan mudslinging with no basis. If you want to help this country stop fueling the left right illusion.
