In an interview for the an upcoming issue of World Magazine, Jim Daly, the president and CEO of Focus on the Family, opens up with a rare moment of honesty about his group's battle against gay marriage. "We're losing on that one, especially among the 20- and 30-somethings: 65 to 70 percent of them favor same-sex marriage." A welcome and refreshing contrast to dusty old codgers like Michael Long, Chair of New York's Conservative Party, and their played out, "over my dead body" attitudes about issues like gay marriage.
Maybe with a few more moments of honesty like this, from unlikely sources like Jim Daly, coupled with polls like those released last week showing a majority of Americans in support of marriage for all, politicians will begin to realize that the young voters and future leaders of this nation don't align themselves with their antiquated morals.
