(Newser) – The Obamas were grandly received at Buckingham Palace today, greeted by a 41-gun salute as Queen Elizabeth and Prince Philip welcomed them to London. Earlier in the day, the president and first lady had a chance to meet with Prince Charles and wife Camilla, as well as newlyweds Prince William and wife Kate—and the Obamas are even staying in the same suite Wills and Kate used on their wedding night. According to the AP, royal watchers say the queen took a liking to the Obamas after their 2009 visit, during which the first lady famously touched the royal back. Click for more pictures, and details on what all the ladies wore.

Who cares about a wedding invite? Guests of honor at the royal family's digs is so much more fitting.

Who can wonder with Kate rushing to belong to the fashionable set that broach the idea that being as thin as a pencil is as akin to a strawberry daiquri on a Caribbean holiday. But never mind, with the likes of Pippa to contend with is it any wonder that Kate hasn't stopped at pulling out all stops?  One day deep in the future Kate will be dangling from the royal palace in her own designer ivory bikini with the Prince nonchalantly applying fake tan to a smiling press corps. http://scallywagandvagabond.com/2011/05/kate-middleton-skinnier-than-ever-and-her-dress-at-the-obama-meeting-leads-to-web-servers-crashing/

hope they're enjoying themselves during the endless stream of vacations at tax dollar expense, while hundreds lay dead in missouri. thank god Netanyahu was here to give sympathy for the victims, after which obama decided he had better say something as well. what a pathetic excuse for a leader this noodle brain has become.
