School: Wear 'Modest' Clothes to Deter Pedophiles

Letter to parents sparks outrage

(Newser) – Parents in King’s Park, Scotland, are outraged over a local school’s suggestion that the way their children dress might attract sexual predators. In the wake of the arrest of an alleged local predator, the school has sent out a letter telling parents that “an appropriate school uniform (eg school trousers, knee-length school skirt etc) protects children from being targeted by sexual predator,” according to the BBC.

“We must do all we can to keep our children safe,” the letter continues. “A modest school uniform is more appropriate than fashion skirts, trousers or tops.” It then names a department store where approved items can be purchased. The Scottish Parent Teacher Council has objected to the letter, saying it “implies that young people are in some way responsible for the activities of pedophiles.” Or, as Jezebel puts it: “Pedophiles don’t lose interest in children when they put on a looser pair of pants.”

I think they're stupid for not considering the school-uniform fetish.  I thought it was common knowledge that the uniform makes kids susceptible to perverts. Children should dress like children.  That is, they shouldn't wear cuts intended for grown women, as has been the fashion for far too long. Pedophiles will be around regardless and will use any opportunity they get, so the only solution is just to try very hard to keep the kids safe.

People are not very smart. Why not allow logic to dictate for us. If an adult sexually motivated man who is only attracted to adult women see's a primp and proper woman and he see's another woman dressed all skimpy with her boobs falling out of her top and a mini skirt that if he can hit the perfect angle, he might be able to see if she is wearing panties or not...which one is going to attract the most attention for this man? Now imagine this man is deviant sexually, which of the two is he most likely to rape? Now lets go one step further, imagine that man is attracted to female children...
