For about a month now, a female mallard duck has been nesting among the plants in the garden section of a Home Depot in Bangor, Maine. She built a nest in the flowers, laid a clutch of eggs, and comes and goes as she pleases during the day.
The staff has surrounded her area with yellow tape. They are a little concerned with what will happen when all the ducklings hatch and start roaming around in the pallets. When that happens, the staff has "hatched" a plan of their own to herd the little critters and their mother outside the store. Meanwhile, the mother seems to be pretty content with the neighborhood.
