Woods Hapless at Augusta

(Newser) – The Masters remains wide open after Day 2, with an unassuming two-under 142 leading the field.  Tiger Woods is five shots from the lead, a strikingly poor performance from a player most pundits assumed would dominate Augusta in typical unflappable godlike fashion.  Relative golf demigod Phil Mickelson also disappointed at a four-over-par 148.

Semi-obscure golfers Tim Clark and Brett Wetterich are currently in the lead at the halfway mark, and their 142 is the highest such score in 25 years.  "I think over par is going to win," said Mickelson, a prediction that would certainly be kinder to his performance thus far than the reverse.
