(Newser) – James Franco has already developed a college course on himself, starred in a soap opera, staged an art show … why not release an experimental record with a drag queen? That is indeed the renaissance man’s next move, Pitchfork reports. Franco formed duo Kalup and Franco with performance artist Kalup Linzy after Linzy performed on, yes, General Hospital during Franco’s stint. Their debut EP drops July 12 and music videos—featuring “surprise guest cameos”—will follow. Click to watch the pair (Linzy in drag, Franco in a tux) performing “Proud Mary.”
