Look out, world. If you think Sarah Palin is a lot to handle, steel yourself for Piper Palin. The 10-year-old spitfire is turning out to be a staunch defender of her politician mom on the family's One Nation bus tour. Her super-sass and trademark "stinkeye" have stood down some of the most assertive reporters. "Thanks for ruining our vacation," Piper snapped when a Times photog tried to grab some shots during a Gettysburg visit on the tour. The girl's "disdain for the press"—just like her mom's—"is palpable," writes David A. Graham for the Daily Beast. She has even run interference for mom, physically blocking access, while glaring mightily.

The little Palin wears her hair much like her mom, and has been snapped in clone-like poses shoulder to shoulder with Sarah in similar sunglasses and singing the Star-Spangled Banner with hand over heart. Her best move so far? Trying to pull her mother away from a discussion with reporters about how Paul Revere tried to warn the British about American weapons. Maybe Piper was thinking: "The gaffe is coming, the gaffe is coming." For the ongoing debate about Sarah Palin's interesting historical view, click here and here. (More One Nation stories.)
