GOP Senator Kay Bailey Hutchison thinks President Obama has it out for Texas. "I see a bias in this administration," she said on MSNBC today. Specifically, she cites the denial of federal disaster funds for the state's recent wildfires and claims that Obama is reluctant to help secure the Mexican border. "I do think that a lot of the rhetoric has rubbed the administration wrong, and we have had to fight hard for our fair share."

Sam Stein at the Huffington Post isn't quite so sure. "In 2007, during the waning years of the Texan President George W. Bush's administration, the state received roughly 94 cents for every tax dollar it sent to the federal government." he writes. "From 2007 through 2009, that number was only slightly less: 92 cents." But at least she's not talking about secession. (More Barack Obama stories.)
