(Newser) – A day after the Magic beat the then 8-0 Celtics, Orlando got another victory over a quality opponent with a 95-88 win over the previously 9-2 Hornets. The Magic were lead by the indomitable Dwight Howard who scored 24 points and grabbed 15 boards. Peja Stojakovic scored 21 points in the losing effort for New Orleans, according to the AP.

In other NBA action: Charlotte’s 101-92 victory over Portland gives the Bobcats their best 10-game start in franchise history at 6-4. Gerald Wallace scored 27 points for the winners, and Raymond Felton added 24 to go along with 10 assists. Portland leading scorer LaMarcus Aldridge was in early foul trouble and could only manage seven points and one rebound.
