8-Year-Old Boy & Pals Charged in Playmate's Rape

(Newser) – Three little boys—one aged 8 and two aged 9—appeared yesterday in a Georgia court accused of kidnapping and raping an 11-year-old playmate. They stood before the judge in handcuffs and blue jail jump suits. Their playmate told police the three dragged her into a woods, where one of them raped her, reports the Atlanta Journal-Constitution.

"I have never seen anything like this," said the local police captain. The boys' ages present enormous obstacles to  prosecutors. "Research tells us that children as young as 8 do not have sufficient capacity to form criminal intent," said a state politician. The boys were ordered held at a juvenile detention center.

    A British father has been sentenced to 25 life terms for raping his two daughters over nearly 30 years and impregnating them 19 times, reports the Guardian.
