(Newser) – It looks like Anthony Weiner's time is Congress is about to come to a close. The New York Times and Wall Street Journal spoke with sources who say Weiner has told party leaders and friends that he has decided to resign. The Democrat reportedly arrived at the conclusion after having long conversations with wife Huma Abedin, who returned home Tuesday from travels abroad with boss Hillary Clinton. Weiner's staff closed up his Washington office earlier today, Politico notes, turning off lights and locking the door. An announcement is expected this afternoon in New York.

Damn shame! He's a man who has worked for the people and has had one of the strongest voices in Congress. The Dems are wusses for throwing him under the bus. This whole fiasco is ridiculous. I hope that Weiner will regroup and continue to do good works.

And when he does it will cement the fact that the media isn't liberal at all.   The media, if you're a democrat, will hound you day and night for information on the Adultery you never committed, while ignoring the republicans who actually did commit Adultery.   The media, if you're a democrat, will stalk people who may have met or dated for "salacious" details from your past.   The media, if you're a democrat, will demand reactions from every single member of your party so that they can write more stories about the non-crime non-ethics violation that started the whole thing. If you're a democrat the media will hound you out of office - if you're a Republican you're still the senator from Louisiana.

This asshat has no business in a leadership position of any kind.
