Doc Defends Surgery on Kanye's Mom

Posted Nov 20, 07 10:17 PM CST in Arts & Living US

(Newser) – The doctor who performed cosmetic surgery on Kanye West's mother said her operation went off without a hitch and suggested she might have had a heart attack or taken too many painkillers the next day, the LA Times reports. "When she left this office, there was no problem whatsoever," said Jan Adams, who walked off the set of "Larry King Live" tonight, saying the West family asked him not to speak out.

Adams said Donda West complained of pain the morning after surgery and speculated she may have taken too many Vicodin. He did not elaborate on his heart attack theory, but another plastic surgeon told the Times he refused to operate on West months ago because of that risk. Adams says he's sure he knows what happened, "but I will not comment on it until I see the final (coroner's) report."
