Parker, Spurs Push Past Hawks

Posted Nov 21, 07 12:33 AM CST in Sports

(Newser) – Tony Parker had a mammoth 17-point second quarter as the Spurs beat the Atlanta Hawks 95-83, the AP reports. Parker would finish with 31 points. The Spurs have won six of their last seven, and were not threatened last night, as the Hawks never managed to shrink San Antonio's lead to single digits, despite two late rallies.

Atlanta's 14-2 run with just under seven minutes left made it 85-75, and they pushed back to that margin at 91-81 with just under four minutes to play, but could capitalize on neither surge.   Manu Ginobili had 19 for San Antonio to complement Parker's 31, while Joe Johnson led Atlanta with 20. The Hawks have dropped three straight games.
