A 5-year-old boy who fell into a crevice while playing hide-and-seek has been freed by Chinese rescuers who used a sledgehammer and saw to break through a wall. China Central Television showed a helmeted rescuer chipping into a wall while the crying boy held up a sheet to protect his face from flying rubble. Rescuers pried him out after cutting one wall with a circular saw for half an hour. The boy in Hunan province slipped from a one-story roof and fell into a gap between buildings just 6 inches across at its widest point. He had minor scrapes on his face but no other injuries.
