UCLA Handles MSU

(Newser) – UCLA bounced back from an awful first half to beat Michigan State 68-63. The Bruins struggled early, falling behind 36-25 at halftime, but the highly touted big man Kevin Love led the Bruins back with 21 points and 11 rebounds. 

Elsewhere in men's college basketball:

  • No. 13 Duke jumped out to an early 17-point lead and withstood a comeback to defeat Illinois 79-66.
  • No. 3 Memphis cruised past Arkansas State for an easy 84-63 win.
  • 25th-ranked Florida embarrased North Florida 102-51 to open the season 5-0.
