There's only room in this town for one adult show... even in Los Angeles

Things are getting dirty. Competing sex conventions in Los Angeles are in the middle of a public feud over the right to host events at the LA Convention Center. The managers of Adultcon—the largest of the three—have canceled two of next year's shows because the city is allowing Exxxotica and the Everything To Do With Sex Show to take place around the same time, reports the Los Angeles Times.

"It's confusing for the public and it's bad business for us," says the vice president of Adultcon. Last year, the trade show drew 30,000 attendees, while Exxxotica brought 15,000, and Everything To Do With Sex 2,000. Combined, that's more than the annual E3 electronics expo. One of Exxxotica's producers, however, says Adultcon is just afraid of losing business. "Adultcon attempts to be our competition but, to be honest, we don't see them anywhere but in our rearview mirror," he says. "We are the Mall of America and they are the flea market down the street."
