Take a Bite Out of the Big Apple

(Newser) – New York doesn't slow down just because the weather gets nippy. If anything, there's even more to do in the city that never sleeps. TimeOut recommends catching the Washington Square Tree Lighting Dec. 4. Those seeking a little more flexibility in their plans can check out the origami Christmas tree at the Museum of Natural History, already on display, or attend any one of the Rockettes' daily performances through Dec. 13

For those traveling with young teens, USA Today recommends following the "Catcher in the Rye" itinerary.  Hit up Rockefeller Center, Central Park, Grand Central and the Met to make J.D. Salinger's classic novel come alive for readers. Visitors can absorb art, glamor and exercise by strolling past Bergdorf Goodman's holiday windows on Fifth Avenue. Pictures of the display on Amy V. Cooper's blog, Curiology, are nothing short of surreal.
