Clinton Blasts Syria After Embassy Hit

The US has 'absolutely nothing invested' in Assad regime

(Newser) – Hillary Clinton is fighting mad over yesterday’s attack on US and French embassies by pro-regime protesters in Syria. In a statement yesterday, Clinton said the US “strongly condemns Syria’s failure to protect diplomatic facilities,” and essentially disowned the regime. “If anyone, including President Assad, thinks that the United States is secretly hoping the regime will emerge from this turmoil to continue its brutality and repression, they are wrong,” she said flatly.

“"President Assad is not indispensable and we have absolutely nothing invested in him remaining in power,” Clinton said. “From our perspective, he has lost legitimacy.” A state department spokeswoman tells the BBC that the US will summon a Syrian diplomat over the attack and demand compensation. French Prime Minister Franciois Fillon, meanwhile, said yesterday that the attacks showed Assad had “gone beyond all boundaries,” Politico reports.

Give "em hell Hillary.  If the two women dummie who would like to be President had one ounce of sense that you have they might get to be President, but each time they open their flap, nothing but lies and nonsense comes out.

I thought Syria was our ally, because Assad was a "reformer".  That's what Hill said last time. In fact, wasn't he one of our allies in our war against Libya?
