Kal Penn is once again leaving behind his job as a bureaucrat to return to acting. Penn, whose big acting chops include Harold and Kumar and House, will leave his White House post in the Office of Public Engagement for a role on How I Met Your Mother, notes Perez Hilton. We'll see whether it sticks: Penn left his government job last year after 11 months to shoot a movie, only to return, notes the Reliable Source column at the Washington Post. For HIMYM fans: Penn will play a love interest to Robin. (More Kal Penn stories.)
