Bride Goes to Jail on Wedding Day

Tammy Hinton busted on two-year-old arrest warrant

(Newser) – Most brides pose for pictures between their wedding ceremony and reception ... but not like this. A Michigan woman’s day of wedded bliss was interrupted by a brief stint in the county jail, after police got a tip that the bride would be traveling back to the state for her wedding; they arrested her on a 2009 felony identity theft warrant on Saturday, the Smoking Gun reports. But Tammy Hinton was freed on bond and picked up by her new hubby within about 30 minutes; an official says they presumably then went to their reception.

Where Hinton, 53, didn't later go was back to court. She was scheduled to appear at 1pm yesterday for her arraignment, but skipped out, reports the Jackson Citizen Patriot.

should have left the veil down for the picture! in her case, i'd excuse identity theft, i'd hate to look like that.

I am not in the least bit condoning identity theft or crime of any sort besides cockfighting and mouse racing, but this story is symptomatic of what your American top 1% has done to the rest of you over the past thirty years. This woman was arrested on her wedding day at age 53 because she's spent her entire working life in an environment where real wages have never once gone up, and got desperate and probably "identity stole" less than the CEO of any given credit card firm spends on scones and coffee in a week.
