Steve Wynn: Businesses 'Frightened to Death' of Obama

Casino owner says that's why no one's hiring or investing

(Newser) – Why aren’t businesses hiring more people with the piles of cash at their disposal? Casino magnate Steve Wynn thinks it’s because they’re scared of Barack Obama. “I'm telling you that the business community in this company is frightened to death of the weird political philosophy of the president,” Wynn said on a recent conference call, according to USA Today. “Until he’s gone, everybody’s going to be sitting on their thumbs.”

“The guy keeps making speeches about redistribution, and maybe we ought to do something to businesses that don't invest or holding too much money. We haven't heard that kind of talk except from pure socialists,” Wynn said. “Everybody's afraid of the government, and there's no need to soft peddling it, it's the truth. It is the truth.” He went on to insist it wasn’t a partisan issue. “I am a Democratic businessman and I support Harry Reid. I support Democrats and Republicans.”

The feds would have to create 127,000 jobs a month with the private sector remaining completely stable just to start beating down unemployment. Looking for the government to "create jobs" is ridiculous.

As a business man I could not agree more. The typical conversation between VP’s and owners of different companies today is; “Hey George, how you guys doing?” “Well, I think we're going to be OK, but did you hear about John going out of business, the bank had liquidators in seizing his property last Friday. I think the poor bastard will have to file for bankruptcy!” “I’ve never seen it this bad, and the damn Feds keep making it worse”
