Jon Stewart has a message for Congress: If you can't deal with the budget, "Get the F out." Thanks, guys, we're edging "ever closer to self-inflicted economic collapse," says the frustrated comedian. "The 112th Congress has been completely unable to muster a debt ceiling agreement to avoid a wholly unnecessary default probably because it's so complicated that we've only been able to do it in the past ... 102 times," he snarks. The debt ceiling has been raised 17 times in the Reagan years, and 12 times while the two Bushes were in charge, Stewart notes.
He compares Congress to a (videotaped) skunk with its head in a jar in a jar of Skippy peanut butter. Even though Democrats and Republicans have switched positions and "everybody caved," still "no one agreed." One question, he adds: "Do you want out of this relationship so bad that you've all decided to act like such giant a-holes that you force us to break up with you? If so, get the F out."
