Hackers Turn Sarkozy's Site Into 'Get Him Out' Game

Elysee Palace site hijacked

(Newser) – Inventive French hackers managed to turn their country's equivalent of the White House website into an anti-Nicolas Sarkozy game. For several hours, visitors to the Elysee Palace website were rerouted to a page—viewable here— featuring a cartoon image of the president being pushed out of the presidential palace toward the street, the Telegraph reports. For every 100 tweets or Facebook "likes," the increasingly disheveled cartoon Sarko was pushed a pixel closer to the street. Authorities managed to fix the site by yesterday morning, by which time Sarkozy had been pushed several hundred pixels out of the palace.

So far, the game has succeeded in pushing Nicolas Sarkozy around halfway to the street from the palace.
