(Newser) – Among House Democrats who crossed the aisle to vote in favor of tonight's debt ceiling bill was one for whom those steps were unthinkable just months ago: Rep. Gabrielle Giffords made her return to Washington today to vote in favor of the measure, reports Politico. “Gabrielle has returned to Washington to support a bipartisan bill to prevent economic crisis," tweeted Giffords' office just before the vote. "Turn on C-SPAN now.” The Arizona rep cast her vote to applause and hugs from Democrats and Republicans alike, notes the Hill.

"The dramatic appearance of Giffords overwhelmed the House chamber, momentarily reducing the result of the crucial vote to an afterthought." Oh that's always nice to hear in the middle of one of the most important decisions in recent history It is amazing how getting shot in the head raises mediocre politicians to the level of sainthood. Maybe, if the Democrats tried governing the country instead of staging dog and pony shows, we would actually see some of those changes they promised us. I will give the Dems credit for finding a creative way to whitewash another humiliating defeat

So profound! I bet many beautiful things are nauseating to you so emotional responses really haven't contributed anything to the conversation but your previous (yawning) witless and uninspiring responses only say much about your own instability.
