Done With Black Friday? Here Comes Cyber Monday

Posted Nov 25, 07 4:39 PM CST in Business Technology

(Newser) – Black Friday has worked out pretty well for brick-and-mortar retailers, but for their online counterparts the action is on Cyber Monday. Tomorrow, 75% of online retailers will have special promotions, CNNMoney reports, up from 43% two years ago. It’s not actually the biggest online shopping day of the year, but it is the symbolic start of their holiday season.

Roughly 25% of online sellers will offer free shipping, which is the most popular incentive, according to the National Retail Federation, especially now that UPS and Fed Ex are charging gas surcharges. But before you go wild, CNNMoney dutifully advises you comparison shop, make sure to use secure sites, and of course, make sure your boss doesn’t catch you.
