(Newser) – It didn’t take Nicolas Sarkozy long to get over his recent divorce—the French president is already in a “close and loving relationship” with star journalist Laurence Ferrari, according to the Daily Mail. It began when Ferrari interviewed Sarkozy on the campaign trail, creating visible chemistry. “They were both flirting for France,” said a source at the TV station.

Though the evidence looks conclusive, strict privacy laws make French media outlets reluctant to report the story. Like Sarkozy, Ferrari is recently divorced, having split just weeks ago from fellow high-powered TV journalist Thomas Hugues. “Ferrari and Hugues were the Ken and Barbie of French television, so seeing them split up has come as a huge shock to everyone,” the source said.
