T'wolves Protect Lead For a Change

Posted Nov 27, 07 1:28 AM CST in Sports

(Newser) – Two days after imploding against Atlanta, coughing up a 21-point lead, Minnesota protected a hot start for their second win in the season's first twelve games. Marko Jaric continued a hot streak with 21 points, and offseason pickups Sebastian Telfair and Antoine Walker added 20 and 17 in front of a quiet New Orleans crowd of 8,393.

It was the first road win of the season for the post-Garnett Timberwolves. Hornets signal-caller Chris Paul went 10 of 19 for 31, but his team as a whole shot a meager 42%, including 7 of 22 from three-point range. Jaric insinuated in postgame comments that his budding affair with Brazilian supermodel Adriana Lima was to credit for his resurgence.
