(Newser) – The celebrity hero club just got a new member: The Scottish Sun reports that Brad Pitt saved a woman from being trampled by zombies on Wednesday. Seriously. The rescue happened on the set of World War Z, during a scene in which some 700 extras jammed themselves into Glasgow's George Square and then started to flee the approaching zombies. One extra fell amid the chaos and risked being pounded by the crowd. Cue Brad.

"Brad came to the rescue of a woman who slipped," says an insider. "I don't think she could believe it when Brad picked her up. He didn't have time to speak to her as it was mid-shoot. But she said afterwards how grateful she was, despite having a badly-grazed knee." (Ex Jennifer Aniston is also making big news this weekend.)

Good work Brad. With 700 extras it really could have been very bad. People could have started falling over her as well

World War Z is a shit book. You can't make a 12yo American boy sound identical to a 90yo Japanese woman. Same vocabulary, same tone, same everything. You gotta vary your narrative style a bit if you're trying to attempt a story from many viewpoints. Zombies are overdone, anyway.
