(Newser) – The opening bell of the New York Stock Exchange will ring on time tomorrow. The operators of the historic Big Board and other major US exchanges said they plan to open for trading as usual. Weather has shut down or delayed the opening of the stock markets about two dozen times in the past, but not since Jan. 8, 1996, when the NYSE did not open until 11am due to a snowstorm. A spokesman for the NYSE says its building and systems are all in working order. Click for more on Tropical Storm Irene's aftermath.
