Bachmann: I'd Drill in the Everglades

...as long as it's done 'responsibly'

(Newser) – Speaking in Florida yesterday, Michele Bachmann supported drilling for oil and natural gas wherever we can find them, even in the Everglades—as long as we do it “responsibly,” the AP reports. “The United States needs to be less dependent on foreign sources of energy and more dependent upon American resourcefulness. Whether that is in the Everglades, or whether that is in the eastern Gulf region, or whether that's in North Dakota, we need to go where the energy is,” she said.

“Of course it needs to be done responsibly. If we can't responsibly access energy in the Everglades then we shouldn't do it." To determine the matter, Bachmann would look to experts; she’s been calling for an end to the “job-killing” Environmental Protection Agency. “No one wants to hurt or contaminate the earth,” she noted. But “we can also protect the environment and not kill jobs in America and not deny ourselves access to the energy resources that America's been so blessed with.”

one part of me wants this bats*** crazy nut to get the republican nomination so that the Republicans will lose... the other part of me would be upset if she did because the only good candidate (Ron Paul) would lose...  Then another part of me would be scared to death that if she did get the nomination... she might actually become president... or even scarier... Bachmann/Palin presidential ticket.... *shudders*
