After Iowa Stop, Palin Heads Straight to NH

(Newser) – In her continued bid to do absolutely nothing to quell speculation about a run for the Oval Office, Sarah Palin has decided to take a little getaway following her much ballyhooed Sept. 3 appearance in Iowa: to scenic New Hampshire, reports the Iowa Republican. "High-level Iowa Republicans" tell the site that the former Alaska governor will speak at a Tea Party Express function on Labor Day, and SarahPAC confirms it; she has been widely expected to announce her candidacy in Iowa. Discuss.

(NEWSER) - Sarah Palin kept her presidential ambitions under wraps today in a 40-minute speech to thousands of very wet Iowans who had diligently waited for her in steady rain, the Des Moines Register reports. "We’re here because America is at a tipping point," Palin said at the Des Moines Tea Party rally, and told them the nation's crisis was worse than "a Midwest summer storm" that eventually "moves on." (NEWSER) - It may seem like the will-she-or-won’t-she speculation surrounding Sarah Palin will never end, but take heart: There are some deadlines even Palin must adhere to, Molly Ball of Politico points out. Palin absolutely must make up her mind by Oct. 31—that’s the deadline to get on the primary ballot in Florida. The deadline for South Carolina is the next day, and New Hampshire and Illinois follow shortly thereafter. More»

Poll: 41% of GOP Voters Would Reject Sarah Palin

Only Newt Gingrich fared worse in Pew poll

(NEWSER) - If Sarah Palin decides to run for president she'll find lots of hostile Republicans out there, according to the latest Pew Research Center poll . Some 41% of Republican and Republican-leaning voters told pollsters that there was no chance they would vote for Palin. Only Newt Gingrich, with 48%, had a higher rejection rate. Some 37% said they wouldn't vote for Ron Paul, and 31% gave the thumbs down to Michele Bachmann. Only 17% said there was no chance they'd vote for Rick Perry. More»
