Early in the first half it looked like No. 5 Georgetown risked losing to Old Dominion for a second consecutive year, but the Hoyas pulled away fairly quickly to earn a 66-48 win. The Monarchs' Gerald Lee had 16 first half points and eight rebounds, but he couldn’t keep up with Hoya big man Roy Hibbert over the long haul, reports the AP. In other Top 25 action:

  • Goran Suton scored 16 points and grabbed 12 boards to lead No. 10 Michigan State to a convincing 81-58 victory over No. 24 North Carolina State. J.J. Hickson scored 21 points in the losing effort.
  • No. 23 Xavier scored 51 points in the first half as the Musketeers cruised to a 93-68 victory over Oakland. Josh Duncan led Xavier with 18 points.
