Dominique Strauss-Kahn may have escaped sexual assault charges in the United States, but his troubles aren’t yet past: French police interviewed him this morning over allegations that he attempted to rape novelist and journalist Tristane Banon in 2003. The prosecutor’s office will decide by next month whether to formally investigate DSK. His lawyers call Banon’s accusations “fantasy,” and, in a statement, said Strauss-Kahn asked to be interviewed as a “witness” in the case. Friends tell the Guardian he wants to “close the affair.” (More Dominique Strauss Kahn sexual assault stories.)
