A former US Marine was arrested Friday after threatening to kill Vice President Joe Biden, authorities say. Justin Alan Woodward was arrested upon his arrival in Hawaii from Thailand, and he admitted to Secret Service agents he had sent messages from Thailand, the AP reports. One expletive-ridden message, sent to the White House website in June, said, “Biden ... you tried to get me to kill Obama in my home town of El Dorado Kansas. I will kill you myself” and also mentions 9/11 and Osama bin Laden.

In the message, Woodward accuses Biden of attempting to have him assassinated and placed under “mind control.” A later email addresses President Obama, asking, "when are we going to get together and smoke some Marijuana," and adding, “I am really glad I didn't blow your head off back there like I was supposed to.” Woodward says he served six months in Iraq, but was discharged from the Marine Corps after two years due to bi-polar disorder. He also said he was treated for post-traumatic stress disorder; a Veteran’s Administration clinic nurse confirms he was treated there and in a state hospital from 2005 to 2009.
