Bioethicist Bets Bachmann $10K on HPV Vaccine

(User Submitted) – Lying politicians certainly aren't anything new, but it's not everyday that someone is willing to put their money where their mouth is and call these politicians out.

A Bioethicist named Art Caplan seems to have had enough of Michelle Bachmann's outright lies, and he's decided to put up $10,000 if she can prove her latest claim that the HPV vaccine, which helps prevent cervical cancer, can cause mental retardation. There is currently no medical evidence to support this claim, and Bachmann is basing her opinion on a story she heard from a mother who says the vaccine triggered mental retardation in her daughter.

If Bachmann chooses to accept the challenge, and she can't have at least three reputable doctors back up her claims, she'll have to donate $10,000 to the charity of Caplan's choice.

Bachmann hasn't responded to e-mails or phone calls from Caplan, and it seems unlikely she will accept the challenge. Read the full article.

The look on Perry's face when she said that was priceless though, was well worth it.

Yeah, Bachmann wont put her money where her mouth is - she'd have to go after more of those government subsidies she keeps preaching against, to keep her campaign going if she did.
