A Denver man wasn’t going to let a dead roommate ruin his night. When Robert Young, 43, arrived home to find his roommate unresponsive last month, he called on a still-living friend—and the two of them hauled Jeffrey Jarrett’s body into the backseat of a car, police say. Young and Mark Rubinson, 25, proceeded to buy drinks on Jarrett’s tab and withdraw $400 using his ATM card, dropping the body back at home before heading to a strip club, the Denver Post reports.

“Young stated ... that it was obvious Jarrett was dead while all three are at Teddy T's,” a local bar, a detective wrote. Later in the night, the two men told police they thought Jarrett might be dead in his house. Young and Rubinson haven’t been charged in Jarrett’s death, the cause of which still hasn’t been determined. But they have been charged with abusing a corpse, criminal impersonation, and identity theft. The police spokesperson sums it up: "This is a bizarre and unfortunate crime."
