McCain Parody Driven Offline by Meghan

'Highly offensive to a reasonable person,' says lawyer

(Newser) – A parody of the Valley Girl-speak of Meghan McCain's "political" writing sounds, gee, so much like Meghan McCain that she's threatening to sue. "Firstly in the first place, some people had a question about my very obvious statement, 'I don’t necessarily agree that Rick Perry is George Bush on crack, but he could definitely be described as George Bush 2.0." No, that's not the real thing. It's blogger Leon H. Wolf channeling Meg in RedState.com. But the blog's been taken down (though repeated endlessly now throughout the blogosphere) after Red State received a letter from McCain's attorney.

“These fake front page posts place Meghan McCain before the public in a false light which is highly offensive to a reasonable person," says the missive. "The RedState.com 'community' that voted to put these posts on the front page acted at least in reckless disregard as to their falsity and the false light in which Meghan McCain was being placed," adds the letter. "OK," 'fessed up Red State. "The posts were not written, submitted, or authorized by Meghan McCain or anyone associated with her. For those of you who were confused, we apologize profusely that you could read those posts and think any reasonable person could write them." Click for more.

In this miserable wasteland of a GOP we have right now, Meghan McCain actually stands out as a thinker.

It takes some persistence and, if you can listen to the woman beyond that "Valley Girl" style, she's very bright, and very outspoken, often calling "her" party to task for it's failings. Her mannerisms are PERFECT for parody.  She speaks and looks like she came from Central Casting for maybe "Fast Times at Ridgemont High."  It wouldn't be hard to lampoon her in writing. That said ... Meghan, dear ... public life ain't "nice" and if you want to handle satirists and comics just get yourself some coaching and lose that presentation.  Someone as bright as you could do it in a matter of weeks.  It'd also proFOUNDly expand the number of people across this country who could LISTEN to you instead of CRINGING and assuming you're a vacuum tube with a cute face. ( See riffrann earlier ... ) It'll also save you TONS in legal fees.

She's got diamonds on the soles of her shoes.
