(NEWSER) - Super PACS might be gearing up to back Mitt Romney in the general election, but George Clooney is about to rake in the bucks for Barack Obama. Clooney is hosting a $6 million fundraiser for the president. The 150-seat, $40,000-a-head dinner will be held at Clooney's Los Angeles home, and will be co-hosted by Dreamworks CEO Jeffrey Katzenberg. Obama has been reaching out to Hollywood supporters, particularly since some of his old celeb backers have grown disgruntled and have begun to fall by the wayside. More»

• Tom Cruise: Upon being squirted in the face with a water gun by a British reporter, Cruise's priceless response included the line, "You're a jerk."
• Justin Timberlake: When Ashton Kutcher and Dax Shepard pranked him for Punk'd, with Shepard posing as a government official seizing his property because of unpaid taxes, JT actually cried. He later blamed his behavior on being stoned.

Actor's father, others also arrested by Secret Service

(AP) - George Clooney and his father Nick were arrested today at a protest outside the Sudanese Embassy in Washington. They and others, including Democratic US Rep. Jim Moran of Virginia and NAACP President Ben Jealous, were arrested after being warned three times not to cross a police line outside the embassy. They were handcuffed and placed into a US Secret Service van. This week, Clooney testified before Congress about his recent trip to Sudan and released a video on the country's humanitarian crisis . Despite his serial babe romances, some have speculated for years about Clooney's real sexual orientation. “I think it’s funny, but the last thing you’ll ever see me do is jump up and down, saying, ‘These are lies!’ That would be unfair and unkind to my good friends in the gay community," Clooney tells the Advocate . 'Homeland' also does well at the Golden Globes

(NEWSER) - Be honest: You tuned in to the Golden Globes tonight mostly to see what Ricky Gervais would say . But awards were handed out too, and The Artist and The Descendants were the big film winners. Both won best picture and best actor in their respective categories (comedy or musical for the former, drama for the latter), and The Artist also won best original score.
