(Newser) – Here’s another entry on the list of bizarre celebrity lawsuits: An actress is suing Amazon.com for $1 million because the Internet Movie Database, which Amazon owns, revealed her age. The actress—sadly, we can’t tell you who she is, because she filed as “Jane Doe”—claims IMDb got her age via her credit card information when she subscribed to IMDbPro in 2008, the New York Post reports.

In Hollywood, “if one is perceived to be ‘over-the-hill,’ ie, approaching 40, it is nearly impossible for an up-and-coming actress, such as the plaintiff, to get work,” the suit reads. Jane Doe says she kept her age a secret for precisely that reason. Now, the suit explains, the public knows that “the plaintiff is many years older than she looks.” Needless to say, the lawsuit does not reveal Jane Doe’s age, but notes that she lives in Texas.

The problem is that IMDB refuses to delete personal data, even after you ask them. I tried to get my birthday taken off the site but they refused. I'm glad she's suing. Hope she wins.

Could it be that maybe she really is a bad actress regardless of her age?  If she wins at least she will have income for the year.

they can make you look older or younger, what about Julia Roberts, Glen Close, Kate Hepburn, Helen Mirrer. They were done at 40
