LeBron Sits, Celtics Clamp Down on Cavs

Posted Dec 2, 07 7:15 PM CST in Sports

(Newser) – The Boston Celtics tightened down their defense and avenged a loss five days earlier with an 80-70 victory against Cleveland today, reports the AP. Of course, it didn't hurt that the Cavs' LeBron James missed his second straight game. Ray Allen led Boston (14-2) with 20 points while the other Big Three players had subpar games. Elsewhere on the hardwood:

  • Tony Parker had 27 points leading San Antonio an easy 100-79 win over struggling Portland. The Spurs got a scare when Tim Duncan left the game in the second quarter with a knee injury, though it's apparently not serious.
  • Jamaal Tinsley nailed three 3-pointers late as part of a 29-point effort, and Indiana beat the host Clippers, 101-95.
